TRANQUILLISER RESEARCH PROJECT IN WALES

The Welsh Department of Health in Cardiff is currently conducting its own research into prescribing of benzodiazepines and Z drugs and the possibility of introducing withdrawal services. This work has been commissioned by Mrs Edwina Hart who is Minister for Health and Social Services in Cardiff. A report is expected to be published in August 2010. This work is separate from the policy review being carried out by the UK Department of Health. This is all the information we have at the moment.
